Materials:
︎1.75in x 3.5in x 10in Basswood
Tools used:
︎Bandsaw
︎Drill press + 1 1/2 forester bit
︎Belt sander
Started out by using the bandsaw to cut the wood into 5 inch pieces, then again to create pieces with a 0.875 thickness(one block ==> 4 pieces)
> it was pretty hard to get an even and straight cut with the bandsaw, especially with thinner pieces of wood

I had an extra piece of wood that I used to practice cutting curves with the bandsaw. My original idea was to make a wooden pillow shaped tea light holder, but ultimately decided after discussing with Julia that it’d be hard with the tools in the shop, and the quantity I had to make.
With my trials piece I used the bandsaw and belt sander to make a soap bar shape. It worked pretty good but was hard to smooth and get into the grooves.
I then decided to go with a tea(light)spoon = tea light tea spoon.
I started with making one full complete teaspoon to get down the process. I cut the shape with the bandsaw, then used the drill press with a 1 1/2 inch forstner bit. And then I sanded everything down with the belt sander😎
I learned a lot from this project! And feel much more comfortable with the shop tools😀
